This Year’s Easter Egg Hunt an Egg-mazing Success
Overcast skies and chilly winds couldn’t stop the fun at this year’s Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30. More than 250 IBK property owners and family members turned out for the annual hunt, which was made even more special this year by the addition of Easter-themed games and activities for kids.
Wave upon wave of excited youngsters descended upon the Farmhouse field, plucking up brightly-colored eggs that contained candy, treats, and surprises. The Easter Bunny made an appearance at the hunt and was gracious enough to stick around in order to meet kids and pose for photos on the farmhouse porch. Bundled up in hot pink and electric blue sweaters and coats, kids collected stamps for each game or activity they completed after the hunt, including Easter Bingo, a bean bag toss, coloring, and pin-the-tail-on-the-Easter-Bunny.
At the end of the activities, excited kids and their families gathered around the registration table for a drawing of prizes like super-sized Easter baskets and jumbo Easter eggs. Luke Wilmes won one of the biggest prizes– a glass jar filled with jelly beans– for his guess of how many jelly beans the jar contained. By the end of the event, even though the sky threatened rain, smiling parents guided kids with chocolate-stained mouths in the direction of home, clutching colorful, overflowing baskets and wearing tired, happy grins.
