Summer of Yum

We perused Pinterest for some of the top summer treats to serve to your family and lake house guests this weekend. Don’t feel pressured to feed everyone a feast, just give these A-frame appetizers and desserts a try!

A yummy breakfast pizza is a great way to kick off your day at the beach and fortify your family and friends before they paddle around the lake. It takes only 30 minutes to make and all you need is some pizza crust, eggs, milk, sausage, cheese, mushrooms, and a few optional seasonings.

Try this fruit salsa dip with cinnamon chips to liven up a classic snack when it’s time for an afternoon break from the lake. Eat outside in the shade on the deck as you plan the rest of your day!

The watermelon keg is a fresh take on an Innsbrook summer staple. Fill it with whatever liquid you want!

Crock pots make great tools for cooking at the chalet! Rest in the afternoon breeze on the hammock while you occasionally check on this Crock Pot BBQ Chicken for doneness, then shred and serve.

How about a no-bake cake to make dessert even more desirable? This Ice Cream Sandwich Cake is sure to impress your guests’ eyes and stomachs with its colorful appearance and sweet, cool taste. Layer ice cream sandwiches and a thick layer of whipped topping and add your favorite candy!

For the upcoming Labor Day holiday (yes, it’s only a little more than a month away!), try decorating a cake patriotically, like this Innsbrook family did:
