Spring 2017 Property Owner Checklist

Spring 2017 Property Owner Checklist

Remember those times as a kid when you became so excited for your family’s big summer vacation that you just couldn’t wait to start getting ready? Then, you’d find yourself in a bit of a predicament after you prematurely packed all the clothes you would need for your trip (but would also need to wear for the next month leading up to it) and you’d look for other ways to satisfy your excited energy, like making lists – what to pack, what to see or activities for the car or plane.

Well here at Innsbrook, we’re no less excited than a kid getting ready for his first trip to Disneyland as we prepare for a 46th summer with our friends, family and neighbors. So, we made a quick list to help you prepare for a season of fun! Some items apply exclusively to Innsbrook property owners, while others are just a good reminder no matter where you own your home or vacation property.

TO DO:

  • Follow us on social media for important reminders, nature news and event information.

  • We encourage you to test your GFCI electrical outlets for safety before the summer season gets underway. Push the “test” button firmly, then plug something into the outlet to check that the power is off. If the power does not turn off when the “test” button is pushed, you should have it replaced as soon as possible. Please use caution when dealing with electrical outlets, especially by water.

  • Gutter cleaning, shingle replacement, power-washing/staining chalet, decks and docks.
  • Schedule services for pest control and lawn care – Enjoying the abundant wildlife at Innsbrook is a favorite past time – when the creatures stay outside where they belong! And don’t forget to ask about raptor-friendly pest control options.
  • If you’re looking for an easy solution for getting the tasks above taken care of, Innsbrook Services can help. Call 636.928.3366 ext. 9150 for a free quote.
  • Make your cabin design dreams come true! Whether you want to add value to your home or chalet before putting it on the market or you’re ready for a new look for your place at the lake, the path to your personal style goes through Innsbrook. Make an appointment with Nikki Wobbe at Innsbrook Innovative Designs to discuss all the possibilities.

  • Safety first! Replace the smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and alarm system batteries in your Innsbrook property to ensure a safe summer. Remember, detectors have a life span – most have a “replace by” date on the back or a number you can call to check. Also, all homes must have a working smoke detector in each bedroom, plus one on each level of the home.

TO PURCHASE:

  • Innsbrook Lot Sign – Not only is the sign stylish and Innsbrook-themed, it makes it easier for first responders to locate your driveway in the event of an emergency. Also, the sign ensures that your driveway is clearly visible. Email information@innsbrook-resort.com or call 636.928.3366 ext. 9180 to find out more.

  • Monday, August 21 – Total eclipse of the sun. Our location here at Innsbrook will be a prime spot for viewing this extraordinary astronomical event, so any friends and family who may wish to travel to join you should begin making arrangements soon. Here’s everything you need to know!

Which events are you most looking forward to this year?

TO PLANT:

  • We’re looking forward to another bountiful year at the Innsbrook Community Garden! Current plot holders should’ve recently received an email with their opportunity to participate once again this growing season. If any 10’ x 15’ plots remain available, we’ll let you know soon in the Village Views.

  • Now is also the time to think about what types of foliage you’d like included in your backyard oasis. Well, that depends on what your goal is. Color? Fragrance? Or perhaps attracting wildlife? If that’s the case, we can give you some tips on what hummingbirds are looking for.

If you find yourself taking a rest from flexing your green thumb, spend some time flipping through the Innsbrook Property Owner Guide, which provides additional maintenance tips, important guidelines to be aware of, staff contact information and more.

All this talk of preparation for the year has us ready to dust off the flip flops, unfurl the sails and pack the cooler! But, alas, we must wait for the official start of Innsbrook summer, kicking off with a bang this year and every year at the Memorial Day/Innsbrook Anniversary Party.

Let the countdown begin!
