Sky Wars and Innsbrook Help “Raise the Woof” for CCAC

Exploding fireworks usually make pets run for shelter. And coincidentally, a portion of proceeds from September’s Sky Wars fireworks competition will be used to build a shelter for homeless dogs and cats in Warren County.

The sold-out Sky Wars fireworks competition was presented by the Missouri Pyrotechnics Association and sponsored by Innsbrook; it was held at the Innsbrook Fireworks Field near the highways F and M.

Concerned Citizens for Animal Care (CCAC) was one of Sky Wars’ charity partners. The animal group is campaigning to “Raise the Woof” for construction of a no-kill animal shelter near the site of the fireworks show.

Charlie Boyce, chairman and CEO of Innsbrook, presented a check for $3,500 to leaders of CCAC in a ceremony this week at Innsbrook.  The check represented the donation to help build the shelter.

Next year’s Sky Wars Invitational Fireworks Championship – the group’s 16th annual event – is scheduled for Sept. 25 at Innsbrook’s Fireworks Field.
