We had an exclusive interview with Ed Boyce (below, with his complete collection of cups) to find out the official history of the Innsbrook Anniversary Party cups, straight from the source:“Well, it all started in 1991 with our 20th anniversary party. We gave away the cup with beer. It was so popular that we repeated it the next year. The first two or three years the cup was white with green letters—to represent Innsbrook. But then when we realized people were collecting them, we finally went out and started getting different colors for every year. It’s been fun watching people speculate on what color the cups will be every year—people actually bet on it, and everything else, at Innsbrook. This year’s cup was a special order with a color we’ve never had before. It’s our 24th year of having the cups, and some people, including myself, have the full collection of cups from every year. Plus, there’s one cup we never used—it was a black cup, and it turned out to look so horrible that we didn’t use it. But there are some out there, in circulation, and some collectors have them. I look forward to this every year, and I think this year’s cup is going to be a real hit.”
What color do you think it will be this year?
