9 Reasons to Love an Innsbrook Autumn
OK, so according to the calendar, fall is technically a week away. Surely there will be at least a few more hot days as September rolls on. But here at Innsbrook, when the Labor Day weekend is over, the fall feeling is in the air. (We make up for it by starting our summer early – on Memorial Day!) Here are some things to look forward to at Innsbrook this fall.
The Trees!

The beauty of fall on display in the Midwest is probably one of the first reasons to come to mind for many. In the spring, dogwoods and redbuds are the stars of the show as they come to life with their beautiful blooms. But as fall progresses, Innsbrook’s oaks and elms take the stage.
Fall Home Tour
At our Fall Home Tour on Saturday, October 3, you’ll get a chance to explore several properties and experience Innsbrook’s relaxed atmosphere and beautiful fall scenery. There will also be food available for purchase and live music at the registration area. Stay tuned to our blog to get a preview of the distinctive properties that will be featured on the tour!
Fall Fest
Fall Fest is our annual fall celebration of Camp Innsbrook and it’s FREE for Innsbrook property owners! We’ll have kids’ crafts, a bonfire, hot chocolate and hay bales galore! The hayrides offered at this event are one of the most popular activities of the year for kids and families.
Bonfires
You can have bonfires anytime of the year, but the extra warmth and glow of the flames add something special to a crisp fall evening. Check out these firewood tips from the Farmer’s Almanac to keep in mind when gathering wood for your next bonfire.
Innsbrook Artists

Whatever their medium is, fall is the season for Innsbrook property owners to show their artistic talent! We are always awed by the beauty and delighted by the shared Innsbrook memories as we collect and unveil submissions to our Annual Property Owner Photo Contest and Annual Property Owner Art Show.
Fall Tunes
The Innsbrook Institute Fall Fundraiser is back again this year with a brand new theme – Classical Country Fusion! Why support the Innsbrook Institute, you may ask? Each summer since 2001, the Institute’s Summer Music Academy draws young string, piano and wind musicians from across the nation to an intensive course of study with regionally and nationally recognized teachers and musicians. And during each night of the Institute, professional musicians perform enchanting classical music concerts.
Cooler Weather

More amiable weather means even more outdoor fun! You won’t be in danger of overheating as you golf, hike, walk, bike or fish. It’s time to accomplish some of the items on our 100 Ways to Explore Innsbrook list that you’ve been putting off!
Shorebirds and Other Migrators

This time of year, we get a special treat as millions of birds travel thousands of miles to a more temperate climate. These are birds you may not see if you live too far from a water source, and birds that don’t always stick around throughout the year. With all of our beautiful lakes and natural resources, Innsbrook is a pit stop for many species of migrating birds and butterflies, like the yellow-throated warbler pictured above and the famous monarch.
Leaves!

Falling leaves means more ways to make art with nature! Get some ideas of what you can do with leaves for fun from this DIY craft list from Country Living. It also means you can rake them into a big pile and dive in!
Of course these are just a few of the many reasons to love an Innsbrook autumn. What do you most look forward to about this fall season?
